Aurelie St-Gelais Gosselin is one of the friendly voices in our customer service department. While new at HLC, she has deep ties within the mountain biking community around Quebec City. Continuously improving her riding, Aurelie has quickly progressed thanks to the help of riding with her friends around the various Quebec trail networks and is keen to point that being able to ride with fast friends has helped her progress immensely. She was also an accomplished trail builder around the Quebec area. Despite all of her time on the mountain bike, she has also recently gotten into gravel and is starting to explore that world as well, especially if the trails aren’t especially calling out to her. With so many choices around her, you can be sure to see Aurelie smiling if she’s out pedalling, not matter what type of bike she’s on. Below is a selection of her favourites out of the HLC catalogue.

Garmin Forerunner – Despite being a cyclist at heart, its not the only activity that Aurelie gets out to. The Garmin Forerunner therefore is the best option for her. Whether its paddling, rock climbing or any form of biking, the Forerunner is there to track, guide and analyze the activity. In everyday life, the Forerunner is also there with health metric tracking such as sleep, helping her check what she feels versus what the numbers tell her.

Clif Blocks – The go-to snacks to power up a climb to get to the downhill and get a quick boost out on the trail, the ever-popular Clif Blocks. While Mountain Berry is Aurelie’s favourite flavour, the salted watermelon is a close second, especially on a hot day as they contain a bit more sodium to replace what’s lost sweating. When the downhill is upcoming and Aurelie wants full focus, turning to Clif Blocks is a no brainer.

Deity T-Mac Pedals – Not one for the clips, these flat pedals are a staple on every bike. With multiple bikes in the house, there’s a pair of T-Macs on each bike. One of the highlights is how long the studs have lasted, not being ground down quickly from riding endless kilometers. The jury however, is still out on how those studs may do when they meet shin as Aurelie is proud to report that she has yet to take a shot to the shins using them. (Hopefully putting that out into the universe doesn’t come back to haunt her)

Lezyne Pocket HP – A common theme throughout all of our staff gems is that no one wants to be stuck with a mechanical or needing some emergency, trailside maintenance. The Lezyne Pocket Drive HP is therefore one of the best solutions available. For a wide breadth of tires, the HV is comfortable pumping up large volume downhill tires just like it can handle high pressure road uses. With a flexible hose to aid in making sure the awkward angle is eased as much as possible and designed to fit in a jersey pocket or hip pack, the Lezyne Pocket Drive HP is there when you need it most.
